Natural DIY Vegan facemasks

This is an edit/repost from my previous blog… but Its been a strange year for weather in the uk, all sorts of extreme weather and post holiday excess, This may have effected your skin. Personally my nose is dry and my cheeks are red raw from being exposed to the elements. I have whipped up a few recipes for DIY vegan treatments that will hopefully make us feel a little better and pampered !

Cleansing and exfoliating scrub

It is very important we cleanse everyday and exfoliate once or twice a well depending on skin type. Here is a little DIY facial pampering treat something you can use from natural products you can pick up in your local supermarket.

The sugar will loosen up the dead skin cells and the papaya will break them down. the coconut oil will soften an smooth the skin. this can actually be all over the body !

  • two teaspoons of coconut oil
  • Quarter of a small papaya – flesh removed and mashed with a fork or similar
  • 3 teaspoons of raw brown sugar

Apply to the face and lips using circular motions and then keep apply warm water until the sugar has dissolved.

Here is a refreshing and cooling mask for when you need a bit of zing.

Cucumber pre Mask

  • Grated cucumber
  • Handful of finely chopped mint
  • Squeeze of orange juice

Mixed ingredients apply to face lay down for 10 – 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. Pat skin dry.

Because who doesn’t love chocolate right?

Avocado Chocolate Mask

  • One ripe Avocado
  • Squeeze of lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons of organic coco powder
  • Few table spoons of gluten free oats soaked in coconut milk
  • Rose water

Mash avocado and lemon juice, add coco power and oats until well mixed and forms a paste. Apply to skin and relax. Wash off with warm water. Apply rose water to skin as a natural toner.
