Taking a few shortcuts.

Taking a few shortcuts.

Ok so I was going to post a recipe for fresh multiseed bread rolls I made yesterday, But I cannot take all the credit for it. I used a supermarket own packet bread mix. Don’t all gasp in horror !

I am a mum of three under 5, Things can get pretty hectic around here but I still want the children to eat and learn how to cook home cooked food. I didn’t combine the flour ingredients myself but added butter, warm water and knead that baby! I also spent time lovingly proving and nurturing the dough through the process until it was ready to bake.

I suppose what I am trying to say here is that is totally ok to use a packet bread mix and admit it! In this day and age of amateur ‘professional’ cooks and bakers   the pressure is on to source all the ingredients fresh from a remote organic farm. As a very sleep deprived mum, I could of picked up a packet of rolls from the bread isle and slung them in the trolley, But I met the halfway point. It sure didn’t feel like cheating when I was kneading the bread for over 15 minutes! So go ahead, give it a try and take the ‘I baked fresh home baked rolls’ trophy on Instagram 🙂

  1. I guess I too qualify as amateur “professional” chef.
You knead the dough for 15 minutes!!! 😮 Wow, that’s a lot of hard work. The bread looks yummy.

But, I would prefer something even easier. 😉 Have you got anything for me?
